Zoo York Filter S/S Shirt
A place for creatives and progressives to come together, ‘Soul Artists of Zoo York’ was a thriving scene in Manhattan’s Riverside Park in the early 70s. Forming its own kind of amalgamated subculture by the time the 80s rolled around, Zoo York symbolised New York’s underground art scene – think DJs, skateboarders and graffiti writers. The Zoo York lifestyle became a social movement that celebrated a disparate world full of raw and experimental energy and creativity, art, multiculturalism, and most of all New York.
The 90s hit and skateboarders Rodney Smith, Eli Gessner and Adam Schatz formed an unstoppable trio, bringing to life the East Coast’s first skateboarding lifestyle brand, Zoo York. The trio drew inspiration from skateboarding, hip-hop, graf, punk and everything in-between. The result, a line of decks and t-shirts encompassing the Zoo York revolution.
Zoo York proudly serves up t-shirts, muscle tanks, casual shirts, pants and jackets with NYC attitude and injected with the city's gritty underground aesthetic. With accessories to match, the brand boasts a range of socks and caps emblazoned with Zoo York’s iconic logo.
